We Need 2 Talk will help you get started or continue on your journey. We will give you tools to use and the confidence to use them.

And a multi-racial, multi-media teaching team.

We’re two educators from two different backgrounds who love to read, think, write, and talk about race. We do the research, reviewing books, articles, films, and multi-media texts. Then we craft resources, workshops, and dialogues that will help you learn and make you think.

There is no one-size fits all approach to anti-racism. Every group will come to the work differently, and do the work in their own unique way. Whether you are responding to a rupture in your community or conscientiously building an inclusive workplace, we will help you do the work authentically.

What it looks like

Open conversations and guided discussions. Participants may work in smaller affinity groups or in large groups.

  • Unpack situations to reach the root causes of conflicts

  • Build awareness around identity and culture 

  • Develop shared language to help guide discussions

Asset creation

 

What it looks like

In partnership with you, we will develop authentic educational tools designed to explore your community’s interests, questions, and needs.

  • Diagnostic or information gathering surveys, with support in your data analysis process 

  • Online and in-person instructional modules for your use with students or staff  

  • Protocols for responding to racism and other ruptures 

  • Internal communications and press releases

  • Our feedback through a culturally responsive lens on your writing, media, or other public-facing work

 

 

Consulting & Coaching

 

What it looks like:

One-to-one conversations with your leadership team to provide support in your process toward anti-racist work in your field. 

  • Support in creating an authentic response to a challenge or rupture 

  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion planning  

  • Asset-based framing within your sphere of influence 

  • Community building among like organizations or groups
